About Us

About the College Marketing Network

 

Formed in 1986 to provide support and benefits for marketing staff in the further education system, the Marketing Network is open to those with responsibilities for, or an interest in, promoting their institutions and student recruitment. The Network represents its members at local, regional and national level in a range of ways.

Aims:

  • The College Marketing Network aims to:

  • Facilitate and encourage continuous professional development;

  • Provide networking opportunities at local and national level for the sharing of skills and experience;

  • Represent members’ interests;

  • Promote the work of Network members to national bodies;

  • Keep members up-to-date with developments in the FE system and in government policy.

Activities

 The College Marketing Network supports its members through:

  • National and regional training and networking events

  • Enabling the exchange of professional skills and expertise;

  • Links with other organisations in the FE system;

  • Raising awareness of the importance o marketing in further education.

Membership benefits

Membership of the College Marketing Network entitles individuals working directly for the member institution to:

  • Attend regional meetings and workshops at no further cost;

  • Reduced fees for the Annual and other conferences;

  •  Enhanced opportunities to contribute editorial and news to the FE First magazine;

  • Receive multiple copies of the FE First magazine;

  • Reduced rates to enter the FE First Awards;

  • Access to a network of skills and expertise, including the Forum on the website;

  • Discounts and reciprocal benefits from other professional organisations, including NAMSS and the RCU Ltd;

  • Any benefits derived from our close links with the AoC, LSN, CIM and other organisations (for example, CIM members can claim CPD time for attendance at our conferences and workshops);

  • Receive news and information services emails from the Network;

  • Access the members’ area of the website for the Forum, downloads, news, advertising jobs and other services;

  • Benefit from the services of the Network’s Director of Corporate Development.

Organisation

The College Marketing Network is incorporated as a limited liability company. It is run by a voluntary Steering Group and a small group of Directors, who meet regularly to plan strategy, events and activities.
